This position statement by the NAEYC presents recommendations to prevent child abuse in early childhood programs. These recommendations center on roles by early childhood programs, family members, public regulation, and early childhood professionals. In particular, this paper elaborates on the role of the early childhood programs in terms of the policies about the program, staff screening, recruitment, and retention, promotion of partnerships with families.
