Having Their Say: Parents Describe Why and How They are Engaged in Their Children’s Education

This study identified factors that contributed to successful educational partnerships between schools and families. Data was collected through a series of interviews with parents and school administrators and teachers, as well as observations. The major findings from this study explained the nature of parents’ involvement and social and school factors that influence their involvement. The paper concludes with implications for practice and further research.
