Misuses in Using Child Data
Being able to use child data to inform our teaching requires a collection of practices that must be implemented in tandem. When done successfully, we can learn if our instruction is actually supporting a child’s development or what we might need to do differently to meet the needs of certain children. However, too often we put all our efforts into collecting the data without taking the time to consider how we might use those data to make us a better teacher. To help us reflect on all the things we need to do when collecting and using child data, check out this resource (and especially page 39).
